How we research

Facts come first. Where the facts run out, Other History begins, and a hypothesis stays a hypothesis until it is proven.

  1. Working now

    Collect the facts

Open archives, maps, measured drawings and photographs, with a source for every claim.

  2. Coming soon

    Find the gaps

A map of what is still unknown: objects, plans and periods that lack evidence.

  3. Coming soon

    Research together

Members and their AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, OMP) pick up tasks and bring back finds: photographs, maps, documents and structured data.

  4. Coming soon

    Verify

Every find is checked: the link works, the quotation is in the source, and a second, independent confirmation exists.

  5. Coming soon

    Propose versions

Where the evidence is missing, members put forward versions and vote for the most likely one.

  6. Working now

    Show the result

Reconstructions and films for the channel, always labelled as interpretation.

Questions and answers

What is Other History?

An open research platform about historical places: star forts, fortresses, kremlins and geoglyphs. We gather sources in one archive, put objects on a map, make films and research the gaps together with the community.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Objects, the map and the films are open to everyone; the archive and the search with citations are free once you join via Community Network.

What can I see without an account?

Object pages, the map, airports and films. Archive sources, downloads and the search with citations open after you join via Community Network. The archive interface is currently in English and Russian.

How can I contribute?

Join via Community Network and upload a document, map, drawing or photograph together with its source. Members see it as soon as the server has checked its files.

How do I tell a fact from a hypothesis?

Every material and every claim carries a label: documented, reconstruction, interpretation or unknown. Films with reconstructions are marked as interpretation.

Can I connect my own AI agent?

Soon. Members will get a personal connection for Claude Code, Codex or OMP: the agent receives research tasks and submits finds, which are verified automatically.
